CIP Solutions & Product Changeovers
Master clean-in-place and product changeovers
Every time there is a product change or the rinse cycle ends, recoverable raw material is flushed down the drain. The SCAN42 measures what is actually happening in the pipe and triggers the valve at the right moment.

The problem
Transitions and rinses are controlled without visual confirmation
Every time there is a product change or at the end of a CIP cycle, two fluids mix in the pipe. There is no way to know the exact moment when the switch occurs, nor the exact moment when the product is pure again. To avoid any risk, the controllers operate on a fixed time delay set for the worst-case scenario.
The result is the same across all industries: people wait just to be on the safe side.
Quality - Production
The material that goes down the drain
Perfectly usable product is discarded with every cycle, simply because we don’t know when to stop. The more expensive the raw material, the higher the cost: syrup, cosmetic base, active ingredient. Every liter lost is repeated with every cycle.
Quality - Compliance
See each transition in real time
Raw material/water transition, production resumption, CIP startup: the SCAN42 detects every product change in 1 ms. Zero material loss, zero dilution.
Maintenance
AI that works autonomously
The intelligence is built directly into the SCAN42's electronics. Immediate, real-time analysis, with no reliance on a network during operation.
This isn't a setting issue. It's a visibility issue. The delay is fixed, but the fluids and flow rates are constantly changing.

The Solution
SCAN42 monitors the interface between your fluids in real time
Installed in-line on the existing pipe, the SCAN42 continuously measures the fluid's signature and identifies the exact moment when one fluid is replaced by another. You no longer set a delay based on the worst-case scenario; instead, you trigger the switchover based on an actual measurement.
No material loss during transitions and rinsing
The switch is triggered to the nearest second.
Transition and end of rinse validated by measurement
You'll know when a product has truly replaced the previous one, and when the rinse cycle is complete.
A scanner designed to withstand thermal shocks
The SCAN42 withstands rapid temperature changes that cause conventional sensors to drift.
ROI earned with every cycle
Cost savings aren't achieved just once. They are realized with every transition and every CIP cycle.
Compatible with your fluids, your lines, and your standards
Multi-fluid:
water, acids, food products, complex solutions.
Online installation:
fits onto your existing pipe without disrupting flow.
CE, FCC, and CSA certified.
Compliant with food contact, drinking water, and cosmetic standards.

Case Study - Dairy Industry

A North American dairy leader minimizes waste at every stage of the production cycle
On its own production line, under actual production conditions, the SCAN42 detected the milk/water interface with millisecond precision: zero dilution in the tank, zero pure milk sent to the sewer, and real-time switching between reject and production modes.
To the nearest ms:
product/water interface detection
Zero dilution
of the product in the storage tank
Actual measurements:
reject/production toggle, no more delay in the worst-case scenario

How can material loss be reduced during a CIP cycle?
Most of the losses result from delays: to avoid any risk, we shut off the flow too late and end up discarding recoverable product along with the rinse water. The only way to truly reduce these losses is to measure the product/water interface in real time and trigger the switch based on that measurement, not on a fixed time delay. The SCAN42 does exactly that: it identifies the exact moment when the product has been replaced by water and triggers the discharge to the second.
Is the SCAN42 used solely for cleaning-in-place?
No. It detects the interface between two fluids in the pipe, which covers two scenarios in CIP: the transition from one product to another during a production changeover, and the product-to-water transition at the end of the cycle. The same scanner also detects flow anomalies such as cavitation and clogging, which are useful for predictive maintenance of your pumps.
In which industries is it used?
For any industry that changes product lines or cleans its production lines on-site: food and beverage (dairy, beverages, sauces), pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. The measurement system adapts to the nature of the fluid. Contact us if you work in another industry.
How does the scanner detect the switchover?
It continuously measures the fluid's characteristics (conductivity, temperature), and an onboard AI identifies the exact interface between two products, or between the product and the rinse water.
Can the scanner withstand the hot/cold cycles of the CIP process?
Yes. It is designed to handle rapid temperature changes that cause standard sensors to drift, without compromising reliability.
How much do you lose each week?
Most websites have never actually calculated the true cost of a wait time based on the worst-case scenario. We'll do that with you, using your numbers.
